Since 2008 the College Bound Brotherhood, a program of the Mitchell Kapor Foundation, has been vested in building a stronger college going community for young black males in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the past years we have built relationships with students, program leaders, educators, and community leaders. In addition to these individuals, there is a select group of young men that continue to go above and beyond in assisting the Brotherhood advance its mission of expanding the number of young black males that are college ready.
The Brotherhood Leadership Advisory Council, 16 young men from different Bay Area college readiness programs and high schools, have stepped forward as the new generation of young leader impacting this movement. They help the Kapor Foundation plan and execute Brotherhood events like the Black & Proud to be College Bound conference and our annual Graduation Celebration, as well as help spread the word about the College Bound Brotherhood.
